BaggageBase publishes practical information about airline carry-on rules, personal item limits, checked baggage fees, weight allowances, and special baggage. Our goal is to help readers understand published policies before travel without presenting BaggageBase as the final airline authority.

Sources and research standards

We prioritize sources in this order:

1. Official airline websites, contracts of carriage, fee schedules, help centers, and policy pages.
2. Government, airport, aviation authority, and recognized safety guidance when relevant.
3. Reliable secondary sources used only for context or to identify issues that require verification.

We do not knowingly invent baggage dimensions, fees, exceptions, update dates, or airline procedures. When an official source is unclear, route-specific, or internally inconsistent, the article should say so.

Writing and review process

Articles are organized around the questions travelers need answered: what is allowed, how large or heavy it may be, what it may cost, which exceptions apply, and what should be confirmed before departure.

Writers and editors check policy scope, units, currencies, route or fare conditions, operating-carrier differences, and links to available official sources. Material claims are reviewed for clarity before publication.
